NNIN NanoDays
March 26 - April 24, 2010
Arizona State University will co-host their NanoDays with the Center for Nanotechnology and Society at the Tempe Festival of the Arts March 26-28, 2010. A variety of hands-on activities and demonstrations will be offered along with conversations with nanotechnology researchers. http://tempefestivalofthearts.com/; http://www.fulton.asu.edu/nanofab/; http://cns.asu.edu/

Cornell University will host an event with the Ithaca Science Center on March 27, 2010 from 10:00-5:00pm. Hands on activities, demonstrations, and live theater will be the highlights of this event. http://www.cnf.cornell.edu/; http://www.sciencenter.org/

Georgia Institute of Technology will host three events: April 9, 2010 during Pike County Middle School’s visit to NRC, April 14, 2010 in collaboration with the Heart of Georgia RESA, and April 24, 2010 at the Fernbank Science Center in DeKalb County. Stanford University’s NanoDays will be in collaboration with the Center for Probing the Nanoscale and will occur on March 31, 2010 from 9:00am – 2:00pm. There will be demonstrations and activities, tours (in person and via webcam) of the SNF and SNL. University of California at Santa Barbara’s NanoDays will occur on March 27, 2010 at the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History. Along with the UCSB Nanofabrication Facility, the event is co-sponsored by the California Nanosystems Institute, Center for Nanotechnology in Society and Center for Environmental Implications of Nanotechnology. University of Colorado at Boulder’s NanoDays will occur April 2-3, 2010. On April 2, from 4:00-7:00pm, there will be a NanoDays Symposiun featuring four speakers along with self-guided lab tours. On Aril 3, from 1:00-4:00pm there will be demonstrations and activities. http://cnl.colorado.edu/

University of Michigan’s event will occur on April 3, 2010 at the Laurie Nanofabrication Facility. This all day event will host 50 middle and high school students from area schools and the program is completely booked. http://www.lnf.umich.edu/

University of Minnesota’s NanoDays is April 1, 2010 from 1:00-4:00pm. Hands on activities and demonstrations, lab tours, lithography demonstrations, and a gowning activity will be part of the scheduled program; http://www.nfc.umn.edu/

University of Washington will be part of the Pacific Science Center’s NanoDays. It will
be part of the Center’s Scientist Spotlight program scheduled for April 3, 2010 featuring nanotechnology. UW scientists will share their work through hands-on activities and conversation. http://www.nnin.org/nnin_washington_education.html; http://www.pacsci.org/

USA Science and Engineering Festival Expo
October 23-24, 2010
NNIN will be part of the USA Science Engineering Festival Expo that will occur on October 23 and 24, 2010 at the National Mall in Washington, DC. The event is a culmination of two weeks of events celebrating science and engineering. The two-day Expo will take place at the National Mall with over 500 science & engineering organizations from all over the United States providing hands-on, fun science activities to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers.
