Past NNIN/C Events

"Building a Collaborative Framework for Nanoscale Simulations", 2010 Joint NNIN/C & NCN Fall Workshop, Cornell University, November 15-16th, 2010.

Bridging the gap between theory and experiment: What theoretical approaches are most suited to solve real problems in nanotechnology and biology?, Stanford University, February 23-25th, 2010.

Cornell Nanoscale Facility Fall Modeling Workshop Series

  • 2005 Modeling the Nanoscale World - This three day workshop combined morning theory sessions with afternoon hands-on sessions for codes like Abinit, NWChem, SETE, LMTO, and CPMD.  The website contains presentations and tutorial materials.
  • 2006 Building Nanostructures Bit by Bit - This workshop covered a range of approaches including molecular dynamics (LAMMPS), plane wave (PWscf) and real space (PARSEC) electronic structure approaches, and nanoscale photonics (MEEP and MPB).  Several tutorials and presentations are available at the site.
  • 2007 Defining the Interface between Nanoscience and Geology - With the help of a generous grant from the Kavli Institute, we hosted the third CNF Fall Workshop.  This workshop provided an unique forum where experimentalists and theorists from materials science, geology, physics, and chemistry came together to address potential connections between the two fields.  Approaches covered including molecular dynamics with DL_POLY and high pressure crystal structures and phonon dispersion calculations with Quantum Espresso.
Synergy between Experiment and Computation in Nanoscale Science, Harvard University, May 31-June 3, 2006
