The responsibilities of this position are to provide tool and user support within the areas of thin film processing, photolithography and chemical processes.  This position involves process development, process monitoring, process implementation, user training as well as tool maintenance/coordination of tool maintenance.  Specific tools may include photolithography instruments, electroplating, chemical mechanical polishing (CMP), vapor etching, wet chemistry and chemical vapor deposition (CVD) tools. This position also involves individual and collaborative research in thin film and microfabrication technology and the coordination of local and outside user projects. In particular, this position emphasizes various processes involving wet or gas phase chemistry. In addition, this position may serve as CNF Safety Coordinator/Chemical Hygiene Officer.

B.S./M.S. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field is required, with a strong background in chemical processes. Three-Five years minimum experience in microfabrication technology is required. Must have demonstrated ability to work safely with hazardous chemicals, ability to work calmly in a stressful environment, and ability to interact effectively as part of a team with users at all levels of processing competence in the area of photolithography.  Knowledge of all aspects of microfabrication technology including thin film production, etching, lithography, and analysis is required. Chemical safety related experience may be substituted in part, although no specific safety certifications are required. Excellent communication and writing skills are required.
