2011 NNIN REU POSTER REQUIREMENTS

IMPORTANT #1: YOUR POSTER MUST BE APPROVED BY YOUR PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR FOR DISPLAY AT THE NNIN REU CONVOCATION.

IMPORTANT #2: YOU MUST PRINT YOUR POSTER BEFORE ARRIVING AT THE CONVOCATION SITE. The best practice is for your site coordinator to collect them all and FedEx them to the convocation site, so that you don’t have to carry yours on the plane.

IMPORTANT #3: YOUR POSTER MUST BE 36 INCHES WIDE by 48 INCHES TALL.  NO WIDER!!  NO TALLER!!  (Smaller in either dimension is fine....)

We also have some requirements and recommendations:

1. Your poster must include the NNIN and NSF logos. Download those off of http://www.nnin.org/nnin_reuconvocation.html

2. Use a portrait layout style (taller than wide), since we can fit in more posters that way.

3. Put your title at the top of the poster in large (at least 1" high) letters. Putting the title at the top means people walking by will be able to see what your research is about even if you are already talking to someone else. (In other words, your body won't block people's view of your title...)

4. Prepare the poster so that an informed viewer can understand what your research is about without talking to you. This is important because you can only talk to a few people at a time and others may be evaluating you from afar to figure out whether or not to come closer.

(BTW, I know 3 and 4 above sound really obvious, but frankly, you'd be amazed at some of the posters we've seen over the years..... ;  )
