Fettah received his master’s degree in Chemical Engineering and Materials Science at the University of California, Davis (UCD) and completed his PhD in Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (dual degree program) at the University of Washington (UW). He also received a Technology Entrepreneurship Certificate at UW Business School. Before joining CNS on the summer of 2006, Fettah was a Senior Fellow with Prof. Paul Yager’s group at UW, working on the design and development of a microfluidic point-of-care system for the rapid and on-the-field diagnosis of life-threatening infectious diseases. Currently, Fettah is the technical manager of the NanoMaterials Facilities under the Harvard Center for Nanoscale Systems (CNS). He is also a lecturer at Harvard Summer School, teaching the "Introduction to Fabrication of Microfluidic Devices" course since 2010. His technical expertise range from soft lithography, microfluidics, bioMEMS, micro-/nanofabrication to X-ray MicroCT.
