The SEI research effort at Cornell focuses on how communication about nanotechnology shapes and influences the way people think about science. We are particularly interested in how communication about nanotechnology influences trust among scientists and members of the public and public attitudes. We also examine how the structure of NNIN facilitates intellectual exchange, openness and sharing of information among network users. Finally, we examine ways to stimulate more reflection about societal and ethical issues among NNIN users through different types of communication methods.
